Let me paint a picture for you.
It’s a new quarter or term at your job. You are just doing the thing. Things aren’t going too swell. You’re just doing the thing. Getting through one day after the next. Your mantra becomes, “just get through the day.” Push. Push. Push. Push. PUSH.
Your body has no time to rest because you are getting through today and the day after that and the day after that. Assignments are flying at you. Logistical errors left and right. Clients are not putting in their end of the work. They are not happy with their results. The phone is ringing off the hook. Your boss is looking for someone to blame. Everyday feels like SURVIVAL for your life.
But you’re doing the thing.
Until, you get those 3 days off you’ve been looking forward to for the last month. The first 3 days off in 3 months. Oh sweet victory.
BAM. Cold, allergy, flu, whatever have you. Cool. No biggie. Brush it off. Go to sleep a little early. Get some meds. Push through. You’re doing the thing.
You’ve recovered. You’re rested. You’re back at work. The locusts descend once again. You bat them away. You are a victor. The end is not near. HaHA. Eye infection.
Being a human is the funniest thing ever. Just ask my cousin who this happens to every June. Oh and me! The woman writing this with a bottle of Clorox wipes next to her desk and no make up for the foreseeable future.
A cold flu thing whatever is going around. Please get extra rest. Drink your hot tea, and go to sleep early. If you don’t take care of yourself, your body will force you to, and it won’t be as pleasant. And if you do get an eye infection, throw away ALL of your eye makeup. Don’t be an idiot.
